JAGUAR DOJO with Jaye Marolla and Kimberly Ann Johnson

July 17th 2-7pm & July 18th 10-6pm at Soma Collective

Join us in-person in Santa Fe, New Mexico for a dynamic collision between two somaticists with very different training backgrounds.

Jaguar is animal body power- a willingness and capacity to occupy strength and move beneath the usual and acceptable layers of social presentation.

Dojo is practice ground, with qi gong and martial arts training as a movement frame for enacting the full spectrum or predator/prey dynamics present within the Jaguar nervous system teachings.

Jaguar is embodied expression of raw power for self-defense, self-protection and also self-expression.

Jaguar Dojo is our living response to what comes after the trauma paradigm.

We will meet at the confluence of Kimberly’s teaching toward nervous system knowledge, responsiveness, engagement with Jaye’s marital adaptability, resilience, and fierce exploration of both power and surrender.

Sliding scale: $350-450

Use code: SLIDINGSCALE350 or SLIDINGSCALE400 if you need a discount.

All genders, all bodies are welcome.

ABOUT THE FACILITATORS

Kimberly comes from the dance world and then devoted herself to the Krishnamacharya yoga lineages, Rolfing Structural Integration, Sexological Bodywork and Somatic Experiencing. She directs her social policy background towards the elevation of women’s health at the thresholds, which led to her first two books, The Fourth Trimester and Call of the Wild

Jaye is a somatic educator, martial artist and bodyworker and founder of YinDojo. She weaves applied Daoism and conscious Eros through vitality based teachings within a framework of experiential leadership and somatic activism. Currently stewarding Soma Collective.

Kimberly is in residence in Santa Fe for the summer while her husband is tending his exhibition, Memories of the Past that Hug Me in a Nest about his Candomblé inheritance at ICA Santa Fe, around the corner from the dojo.

Both Jaye and Kimberly are dedicated to decolonization and collective liberation.

Together they are continuously situating their work, individually and together, within the dynamic tension of personal sovereignty, and collective agency.

They are also training together as beginners in somatic practices new to them to continue to grow their antenna, practice skills and evocative awareness.
